Honours Academy x BGCA: BE SMART – Children Financial Literacy Workshop

Committed to developing a vibrant and supportive community of HA students showing empathy for communities and civic engagement, the Honours Academy (HA) cooperated with The Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs Association of Hong Kong Community Creativity Learning Centre (BGCA CCLC) for a series of workshops, teaching young children the importance and ways of managing their finances. A team of 10 HA students, from both the 1st and 2nd cohorts, set up the Honours Academy Community Service Team. On the 6th and 13th of August, the BE SMART – Children Financial Literacy Workshop was held in the BGCA CCLC and on HSUHK Campus, respectively. Around 25 primary students aged from 9 to 12 were invited to participate in a series of short lecture presentations and social simulation games, carefully curated to teach the proper values and methods to manage their own finances and the significance of building up a saving habit.

The Honours Academy would like to once again thank all the participating parties for their support and assistance throughout the workshops, including the staff from The Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs Association of Hong Kong Community Creativity Learning Centre, the HSUHK Student Ambassadors, and teachers and members of the Honours Academy Community Service Team and the University.
