Honours Academy x BGCA: BE SMARTER – Children Financial Literacy Workshop 2.0
Following last year’s success, the Honours Academy Community Service Team reintroduced the Children Financial Literacy Workshop Series. Collaborating with The Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs Association of Hong Kong Community Creativity Learning Centre (BGCA CCLC), over 20 Primary 3 to 5 students were invited to join the fun in a two-day workshop on our HSUHK campus during their Easter holidays.
The workshop series include interactive short lectures, social simulation games and challenges, aiming at teaching young children the importance and ways of managing their own finances. Several advanced topics have been newly added to the workshop syllabus this year, such as budgetary allocation, and bank saving and investment. The modified curriculum helps guide the participating children on how to spend their money wisely. They are encouraged to apply the knowledge they learned from the lectures on Day One to the earning and shopping simulation game on Day Two. After rounds of fun and excitement, the little guests joined a campus tour led by the HSUHK Student Ambassadors (SA), visiting the HSUHK Jockey Club Residential Colleges, Behavioral Laboratory, and the Art and Design Studio and Critique Room.
The Honours Academy would like to show our appreciation once again to all participating parties for their support and assistance throughout the workshops, including the participants and their families, the staff from BGCA CCLC, the HSUHK Student Ambassadors, HA heads and members of the Honours Academy Community Service Team, and other supporting staff members. The workshop would not have been a success without them.
香港恒生大學榮譽學院 x 香港小童群益會：「精叻小掌櫃」 ── 學生理財工作坊 2.0
繼去年活動獲得圓滿成功後，香港恒生大學榮譽學院義工隊再度與香港小童群益會社區創意學習中心合作，在今年之復活節假期期間，於香港恒生大學校園為20多名小學三至五年級生策劃了為期兩天的「精叻小掌櫃」── 學生理財工作坊。
工作坊透過互動的簡短課堂、社交模擬遊戲和挑戰，教導小學生正確的理財觀念。今年工作坊更新增了數個進階教材，例如預算分配、銀行儲蓄和投資。修訂後的課程更能教導小學生如何精明消費。一眾參者同學更有機會將第一天課堂學習到的知識，在第二天的購物模擬遊戲中學以致用。
在歡樂的學習和遊戲體驗過後，小來賓們在恒大學生大使的帶領下，參觀了賽馬會住宿書院、行為實驗室、藝術與設計工作室和評論室。
榮譽學院在此再次感謝所有參與者和支持單位，包括是次活動的小學生及其家人、協助策劃的香港小童群益會社區創意學習中心職員、恒大學生大使及榮譽學院之義工隊成員、老師和職員。全賴大家群策群力，是次工作坊才能取得圓滿成功。
