Uniting Cohorts on the Court: HA Seminar 3 Sports Day Success
The HA Seminar 3: Sports Day on 9 November 2024 was a dynamic, student-led event that brought together students from across the Honours Academy (HA) for an afternoon of fun, camaraderie, and team-building. Organised by Isaac Li, Zoe, Alex (HA 3rd cohort), and Osman (HA 5th cohort), the event was designed to foster cross-cohort connections in a relaxed and engaging environment.
The afternoon kicked off with a fast-paced game of monkey ball, which set the tone for the day’s competitive yet friendly atmosphere. Next up was Badminton Emperor, where students battled it out on the courts, showcasing impressive skill and teamwork. After a quick break to recharge, Issac Chan from HA 2nd cohort introduced a new game from the University of California, Berkeley where he spent one exciting summer school programme, injecting fresh energy into the event. The day concluded with a spirited round of dodgeball, followed by some free time for participants to relax, chat, and further connect with one another.
While the games were undoubtedly entertaining, the event’s true success lay in its ability to bridge the gap between cohorts. It was fantastic to see students from all of the five HA cohorts coming together, sharing laughs, and building new relationships. These cross-cohort interactions are vital in fostering a strong, unified HA community, allowing students to support one another both socially and academically.
Enormous thanks are due to the cross-cohort HA student organising team whose hard work and attention to detail made the day run smoothly. From planning the activities to ensuring everyone had a great time, their efforts were key to the event’s success.
We’d also like to extend our gratitude to all the HA students who participated with such enthusiasm and team spirit—your energy made the day truly memorable.
