Honours Academy (HA) Welcomes our 5th Cohort in a Vibrant Inauguration Ceremony
On 8 October 2024, the Honours Academy (HA) at HSUHK celebrated a milestone as it welcomed its 5th cohort in a lively and inspiring Inauguration Ceremony. This significant event marked the official induction of the new cohort of aspiring students, with University management, Professional and Academic Fellows, faculty members, staff, and parents in attendance.
The Ceremony began with a warm welcome speech by President Simon HO, setting an encouraging tone for the event. A nostalgic journey through the past year followed, as attendees were treated to a flashback video showcasing the diverse and enriching activities of the HA in AY2023/24.
The heart of the Ceremony lay in the traditional pinning ritual and a touching video presentation, officially inducting the new students into the HA family. In a poignant display of continuity, the HA Tee Pass-on Ritual saw Abi Wong from the 4th cohort presenting a signed T-shirt to Yan Zhuang and Osman Lam of the 5th cohort, embodying the continuity and camaraderie between cohorts.
In recognition of their invaluable contributions, Professional and Academic Fellows were honoured with souvenirs, presented by Professor Jeanne Fu, Vice-President (Learning and Student Experience), Professor YV Hui, Acting Vice-President (Organisational Development) and Professor Joshua Mok, Provost and Vice-President (Academic and Research)
Keeping with HA tradition, the 4th cohort students creatively sent along their blessings and encouragement to the new cohort through their own multimedia production. This act of passing on wisdom and support from one cohort to the next beautifully captured the spirit of the HA community.
The Ceremony was graced by words of encouragement from Council Chairman, Dr Moses Cheng, inspiring the new cohort to embrace their journey ahead.
As the Ceremony drew to a close, the 5th cohort students had the opportunity to mingle with attending Professional Fellows, laying the groundwork for mentorship relationships that will shape their HA journey.
This Inauguration Ceremony not only marked the beginning of a new chapter for the 5th cohort but also reaffirmed the HA’s commitment to nurturing future leaders through interdisciplinary learning, mentorship, and community engagement. As these bright young minds embark on their HA journey, they carry with them the support and aspirations of the entire HSUHK community.
榮譽學院第五屆學員啟動禮
榮譽學院（HA）於2024年10月8日舉行第五屆學員啟動禮。大學管理層、學院專業及學術院使、教職員和家長聚首一堂，見證18位新同學加入榮譽學院。
典禮以何順文校長的歡迎辭揭開序幕。透過影片，來賓回顧了HA過去一年的多元化領袖訓練 。之後新學員上台接受學院徽章 ，並獲贈上屆學員傳承的團隊衫，象徵薪火相傳。第四屆學員以創意多媒體作品向新學員傳遞祝福和鼓勵，充分體現HA的傳承精神。
大學管理層向專業及學術院使頒發紀念品，感謝他們的貢獻。校委會主席鄭慕智博士致辭，勵新學員成為僕人領袖，為社會作積極貢獻。典禮結束後，新學員與專業院使交流，為未來在榮譽學院的跨學科學習之旅奠定基礎。
