HA Student Leaders Brought Our “Bamboo University” to Life: One Story at a Time

Ahead of the Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE) 2026 Conference and Exhibition, the Global Affairs Office (GAO) welcomed representatives from partner institutions worldwide to campus on 23 February 2026. To greet our guests the HA way, 10 Honours Academy (HA) student leaders delivered a story-led campus tour that was equally informative, energising, and genuinely warm.

More than a “follow-the-map” walk, our HA leaders made the campus feel like a living story, sharing fun facts, student moments, and quick behind-the-scenes insights that helped visitors instantly understand what HSUHK stands for.

A highlight theme: HSUHK as the “Bamboo University.” The students spotlighted our sustainability efforts in the most tangible way possible by pointing out green infrastructure, eco-conscious furniture and design choices, and the real greenery around us: different bamboo varieties, trees, and plant species that shape our campus character. And because HSUHK is where green meets tech, the HA team also drew connections to our future-facing learning spaces.

Above all, the tour captured what HA is here to do: develop future leaders who can represent HSUHK with confidence on a global stage, while staying grounded in empathy and responsibility. With global vision and big hearts for local communities, our HA students lead not just by speaking well, but by making guests feel welcomed, and by turning values into action.
