Blessings From Honours Class (4th Cohort Graduate, 2023/24)

Rene Chan *

Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) in
Global Business Management

In such a convoluted world, recognise that noise is just noise. Do not let others dictate your path or define your worth. You must focus entirely on what matters, identify what needs to be done, and execute it to the best of your ability. Ultimately, avoid comparing your journey to anyone else's because a race is never won at the starting line. Success is achieved for those who lead at the finish.

Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) in

I embraced my possibilities and unleashed my potential. Along the HA journey, I met new companions and, most importantly, discovered a new me. Now it is your turn: take that leap, let yourself be scared, and embrace the unknown. Within fear lies growth, within possibility lies transformation. May the HA spirit guide you to unlock your remarkable journey. And if fear visits, remember to breathe in, breathe through, breathe deep, breathe out!

Para Cheng

Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) in
Finance and Banking

As I graduate from the Honours Academy, I realise this isn’t an ending but my new beginning. I’ve learned to embrace uncertainty, to lead with humility, and to find strength in failure. I leave not with all the answers, but with better questions. I’ll carry the courage to be different and the kindness to lift others along the way. Thank you, HA. Now, I walk forward with my own light. So, to future HA students, here is my blessing: embrace the hard days, stay curious, stay kind, support each other, and never fear being the beginner.

Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Chinese

University, the universe of wisdom, is a wonderful place for exploration. It is easy to fade into the sunset, but never forget you are always the sun. Be kind. Be happy. Time flies. I am truly grateful for all treasured memories. Warm wishes.

Do not hesitate to step out—every step becomes a milestone of success. No matter how small the step, you will thank your past self. Even if you doubt whether joining HA is worthwhile, the answer will reveal itself as you walk the journey. Remember, you are never alone; the HA family always has your back. When graduation arrives, the HA chapter gracefully concludes, leaving footprints of growth. I am deeply grateful to everyone who inspired, encouraged, and taught me. May the HA spirit continue to shine and empower future achievers!

This journey was an invitation for me to grow, explore, and connect. I embraced every opportunity to step beyond my comfort zone, whether through exchange, leadership, or new challenges. I treasured the experiences that shaped me and the HA family that supported me every step of the way. May you too find the courage to say yes, the strength to persevere, and the joy of walking this path alongside kindred spirits.

Being part of the Honours Academy has, whether looking back or ahead, been one of the most transformative and thrilling chapters of my academic journey. The interdisciplinary projects, the supportive community, and the constant push to think deeper have shaped both my academic growth and personal resilience. I’m proud of all I have done here, especially those challenges tackled in the final-year project and the friendships forged along the way. Grateful to have walked this path, I hope the HA spirit of curiosity, excellence, and mutual support will live on to inspire every student who follows.

Throughout my HA journey, I have been thankful for every opportunity, every person I have met, and even every challenge that came my way. Each experience was a valuable lesson that helped me grow, understand myself better, and become more mature. Thank you for all the support, precious memories, and everything, HA. Wishing you all the best!

When we first entered university, we were all still so young. Back then, did we know what kind of people we would become four years later? No, we did not. Did we know whether graduation would bring us flowers or cold stares? No, we did not.

People are tempered by trials. We have experienced confusion, anxiety, unease and the struggles that come with this stage of life. Yet, it is precisely these experiences that have given us the chance to become better versions of ourselves.

So, were these four years not worth it? They were.

Abi Wong *

Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) in
Professional Accountancy

Over the past few years, I always felt lost about the future, wondering if I was on the right path, worrying about taking detours. But don’t be afraid of “detours”. Explore boldly with all your heart. Every experience becomes precious wisdom that shapes us and brings us closer to our dreams. I’m deeply grateful to HA for giving us opportunities to try new things and explore the world. It is these experiences that have made me who I am today.

The road ahead is long. Never forget your original aspirations.

Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) in

My HA journey has been full of laughter, teamwork, and unforgettable memories with my buddies. We turned group projects into mini adventures, swapping ideas over bubble tea runs and cheering each other on through every presentation nerve and last-minute panic. I still smile thinking about the shared relief when a project finally clicked, and the way we'd celebrate even the smallest wins like they were huge victories. It was that I learned to seize every moment of joy that made this journey so special.

To my HA family, thank you all for the friendships, the fun, and the memories I have to look back on forever. You have shaped not just my academic journey, but who I am as a person: more confident, more curious, and more ready to embrace whatever comes next. To future HA cohorts: cherish your people, embrace every opportunity and never let a good moment pass you by. Carpe diem!
