Two Leaders; One Spirit: HA Students Inspire at HSUHK Convocation 2025
On 4 September 2025, the University Hall was buzzing with excitement as over 2,200 new undergraduate students and more than 50 exchange students gathered for the HSUHK Convocation 2025: a signature moment to officially welcome the newest members of our community.
And at the heart of it all were two of our own: Ocean Ng (Third Cohort, and now a proud graduate!) and Abi Wong (Fourth Cohort), representing Honours Academy (HA) with passion, authenticity, and unforgettable presence.
These two absolutely rocked the stage.
Before a crowd of thousands, Ocean and Abi’s on-stage delivery was everything we hoped for, and actually more.
Their sharing was completely student-led. These two crafted it from scratch, practised for weeks, and rehearsed for hours.
Their storytelling led the audience through reflection, laughter, and genuine connection. It was interactive, honest, and unmistakably them.
Drawing from their own university journeys — internships, global and local learning, exchanges, and the distinctive HA experience — they offered real stories, real insights, and real connection. You could feel the room shift. You could see students sit up straighter, lean in closer, and truly listen.
“How exciting to see all the energetic new students! I hope our sharing can inspire you and take away some of your future worries,” said Abi, beaming with her signature enthusiasm.
“It is my honour to share my experiences with all new students. I hope my words serve as encouragement and inspiration for all of them,” Ocean added, with her usual charm and sincerity.
And it did. Afterward, students from all years came up to them asking:
“How can I be like you?”
That says everything.
Ocean and Abi represented the very best of what HA stands for: leadership, heart, curiosity, and a deep commitment to giving back.
Ocean, now stepping into the world as a graduate, continues to lead with grace, and we couldn’t be prouder. Abi, still walking the HA path, continues to set the bar for what it means to be an engaged, courageous student leader.
We are so incredibly grateful to both of them — for their time, their voices, and their willingness to give back to the HSUHK community. What they shared on that stage will stay with the new students for a long time.
Thank you, Ocean and Abi. You lit up the room, and reminded us what it truly means to be part of the HA family.
