Sunshine, Strings, and Shared Courage: HA’s Annual Leadership Training

On 24 May 2026, the Honours Academy (HA) 6th Cohort embarked on their annual leadership training at a Sai Kung campsite. This immersive experience offered real-time uncertainty and shared pressure, simulating challenges no classroom can replicate, and providing a unique opportunity to cultivate leadership.
HA aims to nurture future leaders with a global vision and a commitment to serve. This mission came alive through activities designed to test decision-making under stress. Students engaged in dynamic water challenges that demanded tight communication and quick alignment, shifting leadership from “having ideas” to effective coordination.
The core of the training involved tangible bamboo builds, where teams constructed water balloon catapults and sailed self-made rafts. These tasks honed essential leadership attributes: clear communication, smart delegation, adaptability, accountability, and safety awareness, reinforcing that “execution is a team sport.”
Beyond physical challenges, the day fostered trust and quiet courage. During rappelling, students confronted fears, finding bravery not in speed, but in stepping forward with the encouragement of teammates.
This event also served as HA’s annual “family day,” with seniors from previous cohorts and HA Heads joining to bond and mentor the newest members. The powerful message resonated: family is always family.
A professional instructor summarised the day best: “we don’t get out of the comfort zone; we enlarge our comfort zone so that we can conquer more.” In Sai Kung, HA leaders aimed to go far, by completing challenges, together.
陽光、繩索與共同的勇氣：榮譽學院週年領袖培訓
2026年5月24日，榮譽學院（HA）第六屆學員走出課室，於西貢營地展開一整天的領袖培訓。活動提供課堂難以重現的即時不確定性與共同壓力，讓學員在實戰中決定自己成為怎樣的隊友與領袖。
在藍天下，水上挑戰與緊湊時限迫使團隊迅速對齊：訂定優先次序、釐清角色、穩住節奏，將領導力從「提點子」轉為「促成合作」。
核心任務把領導力化為行動：團隊以竹子與繩索紮作水氣球投石器，結構、時機與協調與創意同等重要；其後從設計走到落地，親手搭建並航行竹筏，過程要求重複檢查、共同承擔與務實解難。
除執行力外，活動亦考驗信任。於高空游繩下降環節，學員們面對恐懼，在隊友的鼓勵下，不是以速度，而是以勇敢邁步來衡量勝利。
這也是HA年度「家庭日」：第一至五屆學長姐回歸，與最新一屆學員建立聯繫並提供指導。一位專業導師總結道：「我們並非走出舒適圈；而是擴大舒適圈，以征服更多挑戰。」在西貢，HA領袖們的目標是共同完成挑戰，走得更遠。
