A Taste of HA: Student Leaders Turn Financial Skills into Social Impact at Summer Academy

Honours Academy (HA) was back at Summer Academy 2026, bringing our signature energy to the theme “Social Innovation: Ideas into Impact”. On 30 July, nearly 30 senior secondary school students joined our HA session for a hands-on taste of what HA is really like: student-led, people-focused, and built on real action.

Our HA student leaders from the fifth cohort, Faustine, Samantha and Charmaine, stepped up to serve the HA and HSUHK community by designing and running the workshop “Invest in Yourself, Grow Your Wealth, Create Impact: Honours Academy Student Leadership Workshop”.

One of the biggest highlights was HA’s signature financial literacy board game, a legacy project designed by HA students and carried forward by successive cohorts. Through gameplay, participants explored real-life decisions such as budgeting, spending, saving and planning, and learned how to stay alert to common “too-good-to-be-true” traps.

The attending secondary school students took the next step from learning to creating: working in groups to shape practical ideas that could benefit both themselves and their communities. The day concluded with an afternoon poster session, featuring lively discussions and creative, skit-style presentations on teen finance challenges and imaginative solutions.

Thank you to Faustine, Samantha and Charmaine for representing HA and HSUHK with commitment and heart, and for helping the next generation discover how social innovation can start with everyday choices and grow into real impact.
