With Heart for Community: HA Family Celebrates Trip@HA6 & Yoyo@HA3’s Green Impact
On 1 March 2026, HSUHK hosted the “Green Eco‑Trek Fun Fest”, drawing around 300 staff, students, alumni, and supporters to the nature trails near our Shatin campus, an engaging reminder that sustainability is best learned not only in lecture theatres, but also in the living environment around us.
For The Honours Academy (HA), days like this feel a little like a family reunion: different cohorts, different roles, one shared spirit. We are especially proud to spotlight two HA members whose leadership and creativity helped shape the experience.
Trip (HA 6th Cohort): Our bilingual spark on the mic
Serving as the event’s Master of Ceremonies, Trip from HA’s 6th cohort anchored the opening with a bilingual presence and a tone that was enthusiastic, passionate, and energising. With confident pacing and clear transitions, Trip helped the programme run smoothly and ensured guests and participants felt welcomed, connected, and ready to begin the trek together.
Yoyo Chung (HA 3rd Cohort): A graduate designer who keeps contributing
We also celebrate Yoyo Chung, a proud Honours Academy 3rd Cohort graduate, HA Graduate Awardee, and a standout talent in art and design. Even as a student, Yoyo contributed to numerous university-scale event designs. What makes us even prouder is that she has continued to support the University after graduation! Solid proof that HA does not end at commencement; it stays with you.
For the Fun Fest, Yoyo designed the event mascot inspired by the rare Hong Kong warty newt (Paramesotriton hongkongensis), a locally protected species found near the University. The mascot gave the sustainability message a warm, memorable face that is rooted in place, biodiversity, and community awareness. Yoyo also attended the Fun Fest’s opening ceremony and the eco-walk, showing, once again, that she does not just design for the community; she shows up for it.
Honours Academy congratulates Trip and Yoyo for making impact in different ways: one through leadership on stage, the other through design that connects, and for helping bring HSUHK’s sustainability story to the community.
