The HA Seminar#3, dated on 16 November 2023, on the topic of “Mainland Internship Sharing” proved to be an invaluable platform for our HA students to gain firsthand insights into the world of interning in the mainland China. Led by our very own HA students, Vichy Chan and Zoe Poon, both from the third cohort, the Seminar offered an overview of workplace culture, professional etiquette, and the art of crafting an impressive CV in Chinese, igniting a sense of inspiration and opening doors to exciting opportunities.
The Seminar kicked off with a deep dive into the intricacies of the application process and the essential preparations required to excel in mainland internships. Facilitating with an interactive quiz session, Vichy and Zoe further shared their personal travel and daily-life tips and reminders. Students attending all gained firsthand knowledge of the tasks, activities, and institutional support available, providing them with a holistic understanding of what awaits them in this dynamic professional landscape. The pivotal role of a well-crafted CV, written in Chinese, was another highlight in Zoe and Vichy’s sharing.
Recognising the significance of proper documentation, HA also invited our very own Secretariat team core member, Ms Joanne Chow, to underscore the importance of keeping full internship records and its relationship to crafting one’s professional image. It was also an honour to have invited Ms Winnie Chan, Senior Careers Officer from the Student Affairs Office (SAO) to introduce a wealth of global internship opportunities. Their sharing obviously invited the attending students to contemplate international experiences.
By providing firsthand information, shedding light on workplace culture, and offering practical guidance on CV writing, this HA Seminar empowered our HA students to pursue transformative internships with unwavering ambition and confidence.
