Answer:

  • As an HA Student, you can enjoy overseas learning experience with higher amount of subsidy and priority during selection. We at HA will also offer you customised advice on how such an experience can complement your academic education and career aspiration.
  • This overseas learning experience is most encouraged to be in form of a full-semester, credit bearing overseas study programme, with academic credits earned and transferrable back to HSUHK.
  • During your overseas learning experience, you are encouraged to engage in other academic or experiential learning activities, with subsidies, such as attending additional workshops, conferences and summits.

Answer:

  • Yes! It is part of our HA curriculum. We hope to broaden your horizon and widen your network by including an overseas learning experience in our HA  curriculum. Our HA students are encouraged to undertake a credit-bearing, semester-long (around three months) exchange study programme outside Hong Kong where you can earn academic credits transferrable to your own study programme at the HSUHK. Any other forms of overseas learning experience must be approved by the HA. The engagement must be an academic, experiential, or leadership training programme that is outbound, lasting continuingly for at least one month.

Answer:

  • If internship is already part of your major study programme’s graduation requirement, in addition to your own School’s resources, our HA can offer you personalised advice and exclusive priority to local, regional or even international internship that offered by SAO which can complement not only your academic pursuits but also your career aspirations.
  • There could be a chance for you to gain an internship opportunity offered by our HA Professional Fellow, namely your mentor. You could be opening doors for your lifetime career.
  • A one-week work shadowing experience, or any similar exposure, will be provided by your mentor. The HA will also encourage social interactions/ gatherings.
  • Each HA Student needs to complete a half-yearly report to summarise and evaluate their experience with their professional mentor, and a yearly report on their overall participation in this Professional Fellowship Scheme.
  • At the end of the one-year mentorship with our HA Students, our Professional Fellows will be invited to complete an evaluation form on the students’ involvement in the whole fellowship journey.

Answer:

  • You will be kept abreast of the available and latest opportunities in your regular contacts with our HA personnel. With our HA’s approval, you will be guaranteed with such opportunities, without going through the application procedure. In the future, there could be some exclusive opportunities for our HA students.

Answer:

  • The HA pairs you up, for your first year in HA, with one of our HA’s Professional Fellows who are all esteemed members in our society, ranging from accomplished entrepreneurs, retired government officials, to active leaders creating impacts locally and globally.
  • With this one-year mentorship, you will be offered to conduct work-shadowing, or any work exposure of a similar nature, in your mentor’s actual workplace. Besides, your mentor will be keeping close contact with you. You could be invited to social gatherings and/ or work functions where you can build up your professional networks.
  • After this one-year official mentorship, you are more than encouraged to keep in touch with your mentor, to show your appreciation and transform the mentorship into a friendship of a lifetime.

  • Our HA personnel will match you with one Professional Fellow as your mentor. Our HA Head and Associate Heads, who will be walking hand in hand with you throughout your whole HA journey, will help ensure that your year-long mentorship at our HA  shall help achieve your career aspirations and untap your potentials.
